Cuttack: Taking note of an increasing number of patients in the SCB Medical College & Hospital and Acharya Harihar Regional Cancer Centre (AHRCC) in Cuttack city contracting COVID-19, the Odisha government has decided to conduct antigen test of all critical patients in these two hospitals from next week.

The decision was taken at a high-level meeting, presided by the additional chief secretary, Health, Pradipta Mahapatra, here on Sunday.

Technical spokesperson of the Health and Family Welfare Department Jayant Panda informed that patients will be advised not to visit the outpatient department (OPD) of these hospitals during the shutdown period till July 8, unless there is an urgent need.

Sanitization of the two hospitals will be taken up in phases during the period of shutdown.

Stating that the authorities of these hospitals have been asked to admit new patients only after conducting COVID test of all in-patients, Panda said that the antigen test of all critical patients will begin next week.
