Nuapada: Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday arrested a Junior Engineer (JE) of WESCO on charges of demanding and accepting bribe.
Lalu Sahu of Jhilimila village under Nuapda police station had complained to the Vigilance that Raj Kishore Sahu, JE (Electrical), Section Officer, WESCO, Nuapada, had demanded Rs 10,000 for installation of a new electric connection to a lift irrigation point, which is in the name of his wife.

Acting on the complaint, the Vigilance officials laid a trap and caught the JE red-handed while accepting the bribe. They arrested him and recovered the bribe money from him.
Later, separate teams of Vigilance conducted raids simultaneously on his rented house in Nuapda and ancestral house in Jagatsinghpur.
