Nine More Die Of COVID-19 In Odisha, Toll Rises To 216

Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 death toll in Odisha touched 216 on Tuesday with nine more patients succumbing to the disease in the last 24 hours.

The Health Department identified them as:

  1. A 40-year-old male from Ganjam district who was also suffering from diabetes.
  2. A 57-year-old male from Puri district who was also suffering from cerebro vascular accident.
  3. A 50-year-old male from Ganjam district.
  4. A 40-year-old male from Jajpur district.
  5. A 46-year-old male from Ganjam district who was also suffering from diabetes.
  6. A 60-year-old male from Ganjam district who was also suffering from diabetes and hypertension.
  7. A 75-year-old female from Ganjam district who was also suffering from diabetes and hypertension.
  8. A 55-year-old male from Khurda district.
  9. A 60-year-old female from Ganjam district who was also suffering from chronic kidney disease, diabetes and hypertension.

With the nine new deaths, the virus has so far claimed 112 lives in Ganjam district, 29 in Khurda, 13 in Gajapati, 11 in Cuttack, 10 in Sundargarh, 10 in Rayagada, four each in Puri, Nayagarh and Balasore, three in Jajpur, two each in Kandhamal, Kendrapada, Malkangiri, Bhadrak, Jagatsinghpur, Kalahandi and Angul and one each in Bargarh, Jhasuguda, and Sambalpur.
