COVID-19: These Odisha Districts Account For Below 500 Cases Each

Bhubaneswar: Even though the COVID-19 virus has been spreading its tentacles in various parts of Odisha, there are seven districts in which the COVID-19 cases have not even touched 500-mark.

The districts are Subarnpur, Nuapada, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Boudh, Nabarangpur and Angul.

Odisha on Monday reported 1528 coronavirus cases, taking its total caseload to 47,455, according to data from the Health and Welfare department. With 14 fatalities in the last 24 hours, the overall death toll touched 286.

Among the 1528 cases, 23 are reported from Nabarangpur, followed by Jharsuguda (9), Angul (8), Boudh (7), Subarnpur (5), and Nuapada (2) while Deogarh district has reported no COVID-19 case on Monday.

A total of 439 from Angul followed by 400 from Jharsuguda, 280 cases from Nabarangpur, 210 from Boudh, 187 from Nuapada, 174 from Subarnpur and 101 from Deogarh.

At least 439 cases have been reported from Angul district. Out of them, 353 cases are confirmed — 84 from Talcher, 78 cases are reported from Angul block, 73 from Banarpal, 43 from Chhendipada, 29 from Kishorenagar, 23 from Athmallik, 11 from Kaniha, nine from Angul MPL, two from Palalahada and details of one of the cases has not been mentioned by administration. The district has reported the highest spike of 37 cases on July 21.

Jharsuguda district has 400 COVID-19 cases so far. Among them, 314 cases are confirmed — 111 from Brajarajnagar MPL, 90 from Jharsuguda MPL, 34 from Kolabira, 28 from Belpahar MPL, 26 from Lakhanpur, 11 from Jharsuguda block, eight from Laikera and six from Kirmira. It has reported its highest of 34 cases on July 22.

280 cases are detected in the Nabarangpur district. Of them, 85 from Nabarangpur, 43 from Jharigam, 32 from Umerkote, 31 from Raighar, 27 each from Tentulikhunti and Kosagumuda, 14 from Nandahandi, 12 from Dabugam, five from Papadahandi, three from Chandahandi, and one from Nabarangapur MPL. The district has reported the highest COVID-19 cases on July 13.

Boudh has reported 210 cases. Of them, 151 cases are confirmed — 55 are from Boudh block, 47 from Harabhanga, 44 from Boudhgarh NAC, and five from Kantamal. Boudh district has reported a spike of 41 cases on July 24.

As many as 187 cases reported in the Nuapada district. Of them, 139 cases are confirmed-58 from Khariar, 30 from Nuapada, 21 from Komna, 13 from Sinapali, nine from Boden, and eight from Nuapada NAC. Nuapada district has reported the highest spike of 22 cases on August 9.

Subarnpur district has reported 174 COVID-19 cases. Out of the 174 cases, 104 are confirmed cases — 47 from Dunguripali, 18 from Binika, 13 from Sonepur block, 12 from Birmaharajpur, six each from Tarbha and Ullunda and one from Sonapur MPL and details of one of the case has not mentioned by the administration. The district has reported the highest spike of 33 cases on August 7.

Deogarh district has reported 101 COVID-19 cases. Among them, 89 are confirmed cases — 43 from Tileibani, 27 cases are from Barkote, 13 from Reamal, five from Debagarh MPL and while the details of one of the case has not mentioned by the administration. The district has reported the highest spike of 15 cases on June 30.
