Odisha Reports Another Spike Of 2244 COVID-19 Cases As Tests Go Up, Khurda Leads With 311
Bhubaneswar: The COVID-19 tally in Odisha touched 62,294 on Monday with 2244 new positive cases being reported in the last 24 hours.
Additional chief secretary, Health department, Pradipta Mohapatra informed that 50,411 COVID-19 tests, including 5,639 RT-PCR, 44,640 antigen and 142 truenat, were conducted on Sunday. “The number of infections has decreased compared to yesterday,” he added.
The state had tested 52,795 samples on Saturday and 2924 among them had tested positive for the virus.
Of the new cases reported from 29 districts, 1390 have been detected in quarantine centres while 854 are local contact cases, the I & PR department tweeted.
Khurda leads the tally with 311 cases, followed by Ganjam (243), Cuttack (194), Rayagada (160), Balasore (142), Sundargarh (136), Kandhamal (121), Bhadrak (104), 98 each from Jajpur and Malkangiri, Koraput (94), Mayurbhanj (91), Puri (68), Kalahandi (67), Boudh (49), Balangir (37), 35 each from Sambalpur and Bargarh, Kendrapada (27), Nabarangpur (21), Dhenkanal (18),Jagatsinghpur (16), Angul (15), 13 each from Nayagarh and Keonjhar , Jharsuguda (12), Sonepur (11), nine from Nuapada, and six from Gajapati,
With 343 deaths and 42276 recoveries, Odisha now has 19612 active cases.
