Sushant Singh Rajput Suicide Case: Supreme Court Hands Over Probe To CBI

New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday said that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will investigate actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s suicide case, according to sources.

The court also said the FIR registered in Bihar based on Sushant Singh’s father’s complaint was correct. Actor Rhea Chakraborty had asked the top court to transfer the First Information Report or FIR from Patna to Mumbai.

Thirty-four-year-old Sushant Singh Rajput was found dead in his Mumbai apartment on June 14. Sushant’s tragic demise sent shock waves across the country.

It may be recalled that Sushant’s father KK Singh had filed an FIR against Rhea Chakraborty and accused her for abetment of suicide.

Rhea and her family members were booked under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including 306 (abetment of suicide), 341 (punishment for wrongful restraint), 342 (punishment for wrongful confinement), 380 (theft in dwelling house), 406 (punishment for criminal breach of trust) and 420 (Cheating and dishonestly inducing delivery of property).
