EESL Inks MoU With UCCI For Replacement Of Motors In Member Industries
Bhubaneswar: To promote energy efficiency and conservation in industries in Odisha, the technical workshop on National Motor Replacement Program (NMRP) with the initiative of the Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) was organised in association with the Institute of Sustainable Communities (ISC) and Power Tech Consultants at the Mayfair Convention in the capital city here on March 27.
EESL has designed the National Motor Replacement Program (NMRP). Under this program, EESL would work with industries to replace all inefficient motors with energy efficient IE3 motors resulting in substantial benefits to the industry and to the nation.
During the workshop EESL signed MoU with Utkal Chamber of Commerce & Industry (UCCI), North Orissa Chamber of Commerce & Industry (NOCCI), M/s Surendra Mining Industries Pvt Ltd and Paradip Phosphates Limited (PPL) for implementation of the motor replacement program in the member industries.
The event was inaugurated by Rajen Padhi, Director General of UCCI who spoke on the importance of the Program.
Senior government officials SP Garnaik, CGM (Tech), EESL, Bhaskar Natarajan, Director-ISC, Rajen Padhi, Amit Singh Parihar, Program Officer, ISC, Bibhu Swain, Senior Consultant, M/s. Power Tech Consultants and K Thirumurugan, DGM (Tech), EESL also addressed the media.
Garnaik spoke on the various ESCO and PMC financial model of NMRP while Bibhu Charan Swain highlighted on Energy Efficiency in Motor Driven Systems in Industries of Odisha.
Amit Singh Parihar, ISC/EHS+ Centre Representative discussed regarding capacity building and technical support in implementation of clean solutions.
K Thirumurugan, DGM (Tech), EESL discussed regarding EESL’s Web-Portal for National Motor Replacement Program and Procedure for application for joining the program.
Around 72 delegates from large and MSME participated in the workshop.
An open house discussion and brainstorming session was held after the workshop in which the concerned owners discussed their problems.
There was a consensus that EESL, ISC and M/s. Power tech Consultants will venture together for a implementation of NMRP in Odisha in association with UCCI.
The workshop ended with the vote of thanks by Bibhu Charan Swain.
