Jajpur: Police here have arrested two persons from Balasore for uploading morphed obscene images of a girl on social media.
The arrests were made on Tuesday after the girl’s 48-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide at Banapur village under Jajpur town police limits the previous night after the images went viral.
Police have identified the main accused as Subhankar Dalei (24), a resident of Boulanga area in Balasore district.
According to police sources, the 17-year-old girl had befriended Dalie on Facebook. During their courtship, he had clicked some pictures of her. However, she broke up with him later.
“When the girl refused to establish a physical relationship with Dalei, he allegedly morphed her photographs and uploaded them on Facebook by creating a fake profile in her name,” Jajpur town police station officer-in-charge, Manas Ranjan Chakra told the PTI.
