Bhubaneswar: Director General of Police (DGP) Abhay on Thursday informed that 14 policemen of Odisha have died so far of COVID-19.
Three of them are from Ganjam, 2 from Berhampur and one each from Malkangiri, Kandhamal, Dhenkanal, Rourkela, Sambalpur, Nayagarh, Khurda, Puri and Bhadrak.
The DGP said that efforts are on to provide financial assistance to the families of the deceased COVID warrior policemen at the earliest.
The state government had announed earlier that the family of each deceased COVID warrior will be provided with financial assistance of Rs 50 lakh.
