Kolkata: Nine persons were arrested in Kolkata for allegedly betting on an IPL match, police said on Friday.
Acting on a tip-off, Kolkata Police’s detective department personnel raided different locations in the city on Thursday night and nabbed nine persons, mostly in their mid-20s. They allegedly placed bets on Wednesday’s match between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR).

According to a police officer, several documents, laptops, mobile phones, tablets and a vehicle have been seized from their possession. They were produced before a city court.
