Bhubaneswar: The members of Odisha Medical Laboratory Technicians’ Association on Sunday demanded that their designation should be changed from technician to technologist.
The association’s president Judhisthira Sethi said though they have been demanding the change of their designation, the state government has not initiated any step in this regard.
Stating that lab technicians have been playing a crucial role in COVID-19 management as frontline warriors, he regretted that the government is yet to fulfil their demand.
The association has also demanded the vacant posts of junior and senior microbiologists and research assistant posts to be filled up by modifying the cadre rules.
