CET Students Urge Odisha Minister To Hold Second-Semester Exams Early

Bhubaneswar: The students of the College of Engineering and Technology (CET) here have written to the state minister of skill development and technical education requesting for their second-semester exams to be conducted at the earliest, as per a copy of the letter possessed by Odisha Bytes.

According to the letter, the Council of Architecture (COA), Delhi, makes the completion of five years a requisite to be a qualified architect, and for students admitted through the lateral entry to have appeared for the first year mandatorily.

The letter, written by students who gained admission in CET through lateral entry in 2015, states that despite having appeared for the first semester exams, there was “still no intimation from University side regarding our 2nd semester examination.”

The letter states that the unavailability of the Bachelor’s degree as a “hurdle in the way for our higher studies and in obtaining license”, also speaking of COA’s concern over the lack of exams and results, which may affect the college reputation nationwide.

The letter ended by requesting for “immediate necessary steps towards our 2nd semester examination and publishing of 1st semester results as soon as possible.”
