India’s official entry to Oscars 2021 is the Malayalam film ‘Jallikattu’. Directed by Lijo Jose Pellissery it stars Antony Varghese, Chemban Vinod Jose, and Sabumon Abdusamad.
‘Jallikettu‘ is based on a short story, titled ‘Maoist’, written by Hareesh S. He also adapted the screenplay along with R. Jayakumar. The film will be in the running for a nomination in the ‘Best International Feature Film’ category. It was released in 2019 and got a lot of critical acclaims.
The 93rd Academy Awards will take place on April 25, 2021, and the shortlist of 10 will be unveiled on February 9, 2021.
