Bhubaneswar: The intense cold wave continued across Odisha with Kandhamal district shivering at 4 degree Celsius on Wednesday.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD), in a morning bulletin, said that apart from Phulbani, the night temperature remained under 10°C at 11 places — Daringbagi (5), Angul (5.6), Sundargarh (7), Koraput (7), Jharsuguda (7.8), Bhawanipatna (8), Keonjhar (8.8), Baripada (9), Boudh (9), Balangir (9.2) and Sonepur (9.4).
Besides, the temperature remained under 15 degree Celsius in Balasore (12.2), Chandbali (12.3), Cuttack (11), Paradip (14.6), Bhubaneswar (12.4), Gopalpur (13.8), Sambalpur (10.6), Hirakud (10.4), Titlagarh (10.5), Malkangiri (10), Nayagarh (11.4) and Rayagada (10.5).
Besides, the night temperature in the twin city of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar was 11 and 12.4 degrees Celsius respectively.
The IMD said that as there is no significant synoptic system over Odisha with the drifting of the high-pressure area, the cold wave condition in the state will persist. There will be a fall in the night temperature by 1-2°C during the next 24 hours in the coastal districts and by 3-4°C over the districts of interior Odisha during the next four days till December 26.
In view of the intense cold wave, IMD has issued yellow warning for the following districts.
