Senior Railway Official Caught Accepting Rs 1 Crore Bribe
New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested a senior Indian Railways Engineering Service (IRES) official for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 1 crore.
Mahender Singh Chauhan, a 1985 batch IRES official, was taken into custody after being caught accepting the bribe in exchange of granting contracts of Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) projects, PTI reported.
The bribe money has been recovered from Chauhan, who is posted at the NFR headquarters in Maligaon in Assam, CBI officials said.
