Farmers & Villages At Heart Of Union Budget, Says PM

New Delhi: Lauding the “sabka” Budget presented in Parliament on Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has farmers and villages at its heart.

The PM also said this year’s Budget focuses on the ease of living and doing business as well as health and wealth.

Referring to the coronavirus pandemic, Modi said, “The Budget has been presented amid unprecedented circumstances. The Budget speaks of all-round development. Today’s Budget shows India’s confidence and it will instil self-confidence in the world. The Budget has the vision of self-reliance and features every section of the society.”

The PM further hailed the Budget for having rural areas and farmers at its heart. “The Budget has a special focus on strengthening the agriculture sector and boosting farmers’ income. It has provisions for further strengthening APMC mandis through Agri Infrastructure fund. Budget 2021 shows that villages and farmers are at the core of it,” he added.

Modi’s mention of farmers assumes significance as the thousands of farmers have been protesting against the Centre’s new farm laws on Delhi borders.

He also said the Budget speaks for all-round development. “The Budget aims to widen new opportunities for growth, new openings for youth, new high to human resources. This Budget will bring several positive changes for individuals, investors, and the industry and infrastructure sectors. It’s a pro-active budget that gives boost to wealth as well as wellness,” he said.
