Septage Treatment Plants Become Operational In Bhubaneswar, Khurda, Jatni
Bhubaneswar: The state government on Friday announced that two septage treatment plants on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar and two at Khurda and Jatni towns have been made operational.
The Water Corporation of Odisha (Watco), in a release stated that the two septage plants with 75 KLD capacity and the plants with 20 KLD capacity have become functional.
Similarly, four sewarage treatment plants on the outskirts of the Capital City has started operating on experimental basis. Those plants are located at Kochilaput with the capacity of treating 43 MLD of sewarage, Basuaghai (28 MLD), Kesura (56 MLD) and Paikarapur (8 MLD).
The Watco has appealed to the people not to dump the sludge of the septic tanks of their households on roads. In order to maintain a clean and healthy environment, they can transport the sewarage free of cost to the nearest septage plant or sewarage treatment plant, it stated.
