Bhubaneswar: People born before January 1, 1977, can register online on CoWIN portal or on-site for vaccination from April 1. Those between 45 and 59 years will be inoculated from next month.
The Odisha government on Thursday clarified that those in this now ‘prioritised’ age group are not required to produce a co-morbidity certificate.
Additional Chief Secretary, Health, PK Mohapatra said the CoWIN portal is being suitably modified by the Health Ministry of Health to do away with the comorbidity clause.
“The district officials have been asked to undertake necessary measures for the largest vaccination drive as we have planned to inoculate up to two lakh people per day,” he was quoted as saying by The New Indian Express.
Collectors, municipal commissioners and CDMOs have also been asked to instruct all programme managers and vaccination teams to widely disseminate information in their localities and increase uptake of vaccination services.
A total of 20,95,209 people have so far been vaccinated in Odisha.
