Cuttack: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday inaugurated the long-awaited Kathajodi-Trisulia Bridge named after Netaji Subash Chandra Bose.
The 2.88-km bridge connecting Judicial Academy Square here with Barang in Bhubaneswar will reduce the distance between the twin cities by 12 km.
Constructed at a cost of Rs 114 crore by the Road and House Development Department, it is said to be the longest and first-of-its-kind three-lane bridge. It would also ease traffic congestion on NH-5 that connects the twin cities.

Naveen had laid the foundation stone of the bridge on February 12, 2011. The construction work of the bridge was supposed to be completed by 2015, but it got delayed owing to the flow of flood water in Kathajodi river, official sources said.
