Gangster Hyder Capture: Mobile Chats With 3 Girlfriends Proved Fugitive’s Undoing
Cuttack: Two days after his arrest from Telangana, the Commissionerate Police have revealed more details about the fugitive gangster Hyder’s capture.
Police said the gangster’s love affairs with three women simultaneously proved his undoing.
The police revelation came a day after the interrogation of three women and five others on Friday.
According to police, Hyder had affairs with three women aged 18, 22 and 26. One belonged to Bhogarai (Balasore district), another lived in Pattamundai (Kendrapada district) and Mahanga (Cuttack district).
While hiding in Telangana, Hyder was in constant touch with the three women through different mobile phones. Two days after his escape from SCB Medical College and Hospital, police found that one of Hyder’s girlfriends was receiving calls through six numbers from Telangana.
After tracing the six numbers, the Commissionerate Police cross-checked three numbers with the technical surveillance wing. During the verification, police got the trace of two more numbers of the two other girlfriends of the gangster.
After the movement of Hyder was traced by April 13, a special team of Commissionerate Police went to Hyderabad the same day.
Although Hyder had left Hyderabad by the time, he was still carrying out his chats with his three girlfriends. This helped the police team to trace his location and arrest him in the evening of April 15.
Sources in the Commissioenerate Police said although Hyder was in love with the three women, he had never informed any one of them about his other affairs.
A senior police officer told the media that the three women will be arrested if their complicity in the escape of Hyder is established.
However, he said that through the three women used to visit the SCB Hospital frequently to meet Hyder, it is not yet clear as to how they fell in love with him and how old was their relationship with him.
The interrogation of the three women and five men is underway at an unknown place in Cuttack.
