Man Arrested For ‘Raping’ 12-Year-Old Niece In Cuttack
Cuttack: Amid statewide outrage over brutal rape of minor girls, another similar incident was reported from Banki in Cuttack district on Saturday when a 12-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her uncle.
Police have arrested the accused, identified as Padmanav Sahu.
According to available information, Padmanav went to the girl’s house while she was sleeping. Finding no one home, the accused forcibly took the girl to another room of the house and raped her.
Hearing the girl’s cries for help, neighbours rushed to the spot and rescued her. They caught hold of the accused and handed him over to police.
In a complaint lodged at Banki police station, the family members alleged that Padmanav raped the girl and also showed her some objectionable video clips.
On Friday, a 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by her uncle at Mangalpur under Turumunda police limits in Keonjhar district. The accused, identified as Kulu Munda, was detained by police.
A similar incident was also reported from Mangala Sahi in Choudwar of Cuttack district on May 19 when a 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth. The accused, identified as Srikant Das of Chasapada area, was later arrested.
