COVID Caution: OHRC Bars Public Entry To Its Offices Till June 17

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) has extended the restriction on entry of general public and petitioners to its offices at Toshali Bhawan in the city till June 17 in view of the upsurge in COVID-19 cases.

OHRC announced this in a notice on Monday.

“During this period, the office will function with bare minimum staff . Registration and scrutiny of the complaints will continue on regular basis,” the notice said.

It added that only urgent cases shall be taken up for hearing during this period.

The petitioners can file their complaints through the commission’s official email (ohrc@nic.in) or contact the OHRC Assistant Registrar over mobile (8763642080) for urgent hearing.

However, extremely urgent matters can be taken up or heard after taking permission from the OHRC Chairperson and the parties may opt for hearings on the virtual mode by providing their mobile number and email address to the assistant registrar.

Earlier on May 17, OHRC had issued a similar notice to restrict public entry to its offices to contain the spread of COVID-19.
