Five Odisha Districts Record 40 Plus Temperature

Bhubaneswar: After some relief from extreme heat following pre-monsoon showers and cyclone Yaas, the day temperature in interior Odisha went up sharply on Sunday.

According to the evening bulletin of India Meteorological Department (IMD), the maximum day temperature soared to 40 degrees Celsius and above in 5 places.

While Titlagarh recorded the highest temperature at 42.4 degree  Celsius, Balangir and Sundargarh recorded 41 degree each followed by Boudh and Bhawanipatna at 40 degree Celsius.

Apart from this, the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar recorded high humidity while the temperature stood at 38.5 and 38.6 respectively.

However, there is relief in sight as the IMD bulleting further said that a Low Pressure Area is likely to form over North Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood around June 11. Under its Influence, southwest monsoon is likely to advance into most parts of Odisha.

Yellow Warning has been issued for the next 5 days.

June 7

Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi,  Kandhamal, Nuapada, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Deogarh,
Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak and Jajpur.

June 8

Thunderstorm with lightning very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Sonepur, Boudh,
Nuapada, Balangir, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri and Balasore.

Heavy rainfall also very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur and Kalahandi.

June 9 

Heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the  districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Mayurbhanj, Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur.

June 10

Heavy to very heavy rainfall very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Bhadrak, Balasore, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Mayurbhanj and Dhenkanal.
