Lord Jagannath Rides A Mini Chariot In This Odisha Boy’s House
Cuttack: If you can’t go to the Lord, bring him home. That is exactly what Amit Kumar Mohapatra from Cuttack has done. A Plus II second-year student, he was supposed to appear for the Board exams this year, which have now been cancelled.
Left with a lot of time on hand, this staunch devotee of Lord Jagannath decided to make the Lord’s Rath to fit his home. “I pull the chariot every year during Jagannath Yatra but could not do so last year. This year also, it will be the same. That is why I decided to make this mini Rath so that I don’t miss the event,” Amit told a local news channel.
Making the Rath has cost Amit only about Rs 50-100 since he has used whatever was available at home, be it paper, colour, thermocol, or matchsticks. “The image of the Lord can be made even with simple things like sand and paper,” said Amit.
Amit said he will install a mini statute of Lord Jagannath in the mini Rath and pray that the world is free from the deadly coronavirus.
