Agni Prime Missile Test-Fired Off Odisha Coast
Balasore: India successfully test-fired Agni Prime missile, an advanced version of Agni-1, from the Interim Test Range at Chandipur off the Odisha coast on Monday.
The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) conducted the test from launchpad No-4 at 10.55 am.
The canisterised short-range missile is made up of composite material and has a strike range between 1,000 and 2,000 km. It is also capable of carrying nuclear warheads.
The double stage missile is lighter and much sleeker than its Agni-I predecessor.
Notably, the DRDO had put missile tests on hold for three months in view of the COVID-19 pandemic.
