TPR Drops Below 3% Again As Odisha Adds 2074 New COVID Cases; 3 Dists In Red Zone
Bhubaneswar: The test positivity rate (TPR) in Odisha dropped below 3 per cent and stood at 2.99 per cent on Wednesday with 2074 of 69287 samples testing positive for COVID in the last 24 hours.
The state had reported a TPR of 3.09 per cent on Tuesday, a day after it had dipped to 2.73 per cent. The TPR has remained below 4 per cent since July 5.
The daily caseload had also dropped below 2000, with 1930 and 1993 cases being reported in the last two days.
According to the I & PR department, 1192 of the fresh infections are from quarantine and 882 local contact cases.
Khurda district registered the highest 443 fresh infections, followed by Cuttack (283) and Puri (133).
With this, the COVID tally in the state reached 945749 and 22860 among them are active cases.

Till Tuesday, Puri and Khurda were in the Red Zone with a TPR of 12.4 per cent and 7.6 per cent respectively. Khurda and Cuttack remained in the Red Zone with 4784 and 3289 active cases.
