Bhawanipatna: A 10-year-old boy was killed and his elder brother was injured by their neighbour in Kalahandi district.
The incident was reported from Bhataguda village in Thuamul Rampur police station area on Wednesday.
Police said the accused, Jaisingh Jani (45), attacked the two brothers, Anil Majhi and Devanand Majhi, while they were playing outside their house.
Anil was hacked to death by an axe on the spot. The accused then attacked Devanand with a bow and arrow, injuring him grievously on his leg.
IIC of Thuamul Rampur PS Govind Majhi said Jani has been arrested.
The IIC said the exact cause of the murderous attack is yet to be ascertained, but police suspect it followed past enmity between two families.
