Hardcore Maoist Of Chhattisgarh Surrenders In Odisha’s Balangir
Balangir: A hardcore Maoist of Chhattisgarh, who is wanted in several criminal cases, surrendered before police, here on Sunday.
Speaking to the media persons, Deepak Kumar, DIG (northern range) said the young Maoist, Aitu Korsa, who belongs to Mankelli village of Chhattisgarh, had joined the banned outfit when he was just 14 years. Trained by the most wanted Maoist Dinesh, Aitu started to work in Sunabeda division of the organisation in 2013.
Aitu was one of the leading cadres of the Kalahandi-Kandhamal-Boudh-Nayagarh (KKBN) division and Balangir-Bargarh-Mahasamund division.
He was involved in several criminal cases like IED explosion, fire exchange with security forces and murder of villagers.
Stating that he was disillusioned with the activities of the Maoist leaders who were working for personal benefits at the cost of the principles of the organisation, Aitu said he has decided to return to the main stream of the society as per the policy of Odisha government.
