Berhampur: A man allegedly stabbed a youth to death at Harijan Sahi under Patrapur block in Ganjam district late on Tuesday.
Soon after the incident, the accused, identified as Surat Nimei, walked into the local station and confessed to his crime.
Although the reason behind the murder is yet to be known, police suspect it to be the fallout of an old rivalry.
According to information, the accused stabbed one Rajat Nayak to death while he was sitting outside his house.
Police sources said that the accused was earlier sent to jail for attempting to kill the same youth and his father over some dispute.
Meanwhile, a police team reached the village where the incident took place to collect the statements of the locals to expedite investigation into the matter.
