98.58% Pass Odisha Plus II Arts, 95 Students Score Above 90%

Bhubaneswar: A record 98.58 per cent of students of Plus II Arts and 99.16 per cent of Vocational Education have cleared the annual examinations, the results of which were announced on Saturday.

Announcing the results at the office of the Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), School and Mass Education minister Samir Ranjan Dash said 1,86,685 of 1,89,363 Arts Regular students have cleared the examination.

While 30,510 students have secured first division, 46,101 have passed with second division and 10,074 with third division.

Among them, 95 students have secured more than 90 per cent of marks, the minister added.

He further said that the girl students have outscored the boys this year.

As against 85.98 per cent of boys, 92.34 per cent of girls have cleared the examination.

In the ex-regular category, this year’s pass percentage is 26 per cent. Of 27,595 students, 7161 have cleared the examination.

In the Vocational streams, 4879 of 4920 Regular students have passed with a pass percentage of 99.16.

Among them, 1075 have secured first division, 1752 passed with second division and 2052 with third division.

In the ex-Regular category, 452 of 1277 have cleared the examination with a pass percentage of 35.39.  Among them, one student has secured first division, 84 passed with second division, 167 with third division and 200 with compartmental division.

In the Madrasa examination, 392 of 405 students have passed with a pass percentage of 96.70.

The minister said that the students can see their results on orissaresults.nic.in and download their mark-sheets.

He further said that the students who are not satisfied with their results, can redress their grievances to their respective principals by August 23 with all documents and principals will inform the CHSE through e-mail within 24 hours of receiving the complaints from the students.

Besides, the students willing to improve their marks will be allowed to appear in the offline examination for which the CHSE will come up with a notification by August 21.

Around 2.21 lakh students had registered themselves for Plus II examinations in the state, which were cancelled due to the rise in COVID19 cases across the country. The result was later prepared on the basis of the internal assessment policy. The students were awarded marks on the basis of their performances in the Class X board exam for theory papers.
