Low Pressure: Heavy Rain To Lash Odisha For Three Days
Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday predicted three days of heavy rainfall in Odisha due to the formation of a low-pressure area over Bay of Bengal.
A mid-day IMD bulletin informed that following Sunday’s cyclonic circulation, a low-pressure area has formed over north-west and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal off the south Odisha and north Andhra Pradesh coasts around noon on Monday.
“Under its influence, there will be heavy rainfall in most parts of the districts in south and coastal Odisha. As the system is likely to move west-north-west during next 2-3 days, the interior districts will receive heavy rainfall,” the bulletin added.
Due to the inclement weather, fishermen in Odisha are advised not to venture into deep on September 6 and 7 (Monday and Tuesday) as the surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph will make the sea condition rough to very rough.
