Russia Starts Supplying S-400 Missile Systems To India
Moscow: Russia has begun delivering India the S-400 Triumf surface-to-air missile systems. The Director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC), Dmitry Shugaev told Sputnik in the build-up to the Dubai Airshow.
“The supplies of the S-400 air defence system to India have started and are proceeding on schedule,” Shugaev was quoted as saying by news agency ANI.
The S-400 has already been put to service in China and Turkey. It was in October 2018 that Russia and India signed a contract on the delivery of S-400s.
The head of Russia’s state arms exporter Rosoboronexport, Alexander Mikheev had told Sputnik in August that negotiations on the supply of S-400 air defence systems were in the process with seven Middle East, the Asia-Pacific region and African countries.
