Daily COVID Caseload Crosses 200 Again In Odisha, Nil In 12 Districts

Bhubaneswar: Odisha registered a marginal increase in daily COVID caseload on Wednesday with 255 more people testing positive for the virus in last 24 hours.

The state had reported 151 new cases on Tuesday, 105 on Monday, 189 on Sunday and 193 cases on Saturday.

According to the I & PR department, 152 of the new infections are from quarantine and 103 local contacts. As many as 54 among them are in the age group of 0-18 years. Khurda reported the highest of 106 new cases, followed by Mayurbhanj at 22. While 18 districts have reported new cases in single-digit, it is nil for 12 districts.

  4. Cuttack: 12
  5. Dhenkanal: 2
  6. Gajapati: 2
  7. Ganjam: 2
  8. Jagatsinghpur: 1
  9. Jajpur: 16
  10. Jharsuguda: 2
  11. Kendrapada: 4
  12. Keonjhar: 1
  13. Khurda: 106
  14. Mayurbhanj: 22
  15. Nayagarh: 1
  16. Puri: 4
  17. Sambalpur: 19
  18. Sundargarh: 18

Besides, 25 are from the state pool.

With these cases being detected from 58,906 samples, the test positivity rate (TPR) stood at  0.43%.

While the affected tally has touched 10,50,760, Odisha now has 2,142 active cases.
