Bhubaneswar: BJD leader and MP Anubhav Mohanty is facing the heat once again over his educational qualifications.
Opposition parties have asked the MP from Kendrapara to clear the air over a Doctorate he has obtained from a US university.
“Earlier, the Congress had alleged that Anubhav has not even passed Plus 2. Neither the party nor the MP gave any clarification,” a media report quoted Congress spokesperson Nishikant Mishra as saying.
“Earlier, he obtained a graduation degree from a blacklisted university. He was a Plus 2 student of Kandarpur College and is yet to collect his migration certificate,” Mishra alleged. “The MP represents Odisha in Parliament. He should come clean on his educational qualifications,” he said.
The Kendrapara district BJP also leveled similar allegations.
“Anubhav should clarify about his educational qualifications and his Doctorate from a US university,” said district BJP president Kishore Kumar Panda.
Last month, the Odisha government cancelled the promotion of Abhaya Kumar Mohanty, father of Anubhav, as an English Reader.
The government in June had withdrawn extra pension benefits to him after a departmental inquiry found that the Refresher Course certificate on the basis of which he was promoted as Reader in 1997 was fake.
