Bhubaneswar DCP Warns Of Heavy Penalty For Violation Of Marriage Procession Guidelines
Bhubaneswar: With marriage parties using blaring music and fireworks to celebrate the occasion, Bhubaneswar DCP Uma Shankar Dash has warned of hefty penalty for those violating the guidelines.
Stating that complaints regarding loud music and fireworks during marriage processions have been pouring in at police stations in the capital city, the DCP requested people to celebrate the special events in adherence to sound and COVID guidelines issued by the municipal corporation.
“There is a stricture in the bond which is signed by the host/organiser where the person or family concerned have to ensure no use of fireworks and DJ music. However, violations have come to the notice of police,” said Dash. The processions also are taken out beyond 10 pm, which is strictly prohibited, he added.
After relaxation in COVID norms people have started taking things lightly, but the police are going to impose the strictures in letter and spirit, he said.
“The organisers will be heavily penalised if any such violations come to our notice,” the DCP said. The Commissionerate Police also released two complaint numbers 0674-2540294 or 112 to register their grievances, said the DCP.
