Cold Wave In North India: Delhi Records 3.1°C

New Delhi: A record low temperature of 3.1 degrees Celsius was reported in New Delhi on Monday. This is the lowest temperature of the season so far, as a cold wave prevailed across the northern part of India.

Cold waves were experienced in Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and parts of Telangana and Rajasthan.

The minimum temperature (3.1 degrees Celsius) was recorded at the Lodhi Road observatory on Monday, the Regional Meteorological Centre, Delhi, said.

According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), Delhi’s base station, Safdarjung, recorded 4.6 degrees Celsius on Sunday morning, it plummeted to 3.3 degrees at Jafarpur and 3.6 degrees at Lodhi Road.

The weather department had issued a yellow alert in New Delhi for Sunday and Monday.
