Australian PM Morrison Cooks Modi’s Favourite Dish To Celebrate New Trade Ties With India

Bhubaneswar: Australian Prime Minister Scott Morrison cooked khichdi, which according to him is Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “favourite dish” to celebrate the new trade ties between the countries. He posted pictures of the “curry night” on his Instagram handle on Saturday.

“To celebrate our new trade agreement with India, the curries I chose to cook for curry night tonight are all from my dear friend Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Gujurat province, including his favourite Khichdi,” Morrison wrote and added, “Jen, girls and mum all approve.”

On April 2, India and Australia Sealing signed an Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement(IndAus ECTA) under which Canberra would provide zero-duty access to 96 per cent of India’s exports, including textiles, leather, furniture, jewellery and machinery, in its market. The leaders hailed the deal as a “watershed moment” and “one of the biggest economic doors there is to open in the world.”

The agreement would help in taking bilateral trade from USD 27.5 billion at present to USD 45-50 billion in the next five years.
