Active Cases Drop Below 150 In Odisha, One More District Turns COVID-Free

Bhubaneswar: Odisha saw a slight rise in new COVID cases on Monday as 12 more people tested positive for the virus in the last 24 hours against 8 the previous day.

According to the I & PR department, seven are from quarantine and 5 local contacts. Among them, four are in the age group of 0-18 years. The new cases have been detected from five districts with Sambalpur registering the highest of 4.

Here are the district-wise figures of the new cases:

1. Bhadrak: 1

2. Balangir: 5

3. Cuttack: 1

4. Khurda: 1

5. Sambalpur: 4

With these cases being detected from 19,931 samples, the test positivity rate stood at 0.06 per cent.

With 20 recoveries and 12 infections in the last 24 hours, the active cases have dropped below 150 to touch 144. Six districts – Keonjhar, Nayagarh, Kalahandi, Koraput, Puri and Jharsuguda – are now free from Coronavirus with nil active cases.
