Fake Indian Currency Notes Worth Over Rs 14 Lakh Seized, Two Arrested In Odisha’s Bargarh

Bhubaneswar: The STF of Odisha Crime Branch on Thursday arrested two persons including an inter-state criminal of Uttar Pradesh and seized fake Indian currency notes worth more than Rs 14 lakh in Bargarh district.

On the basis of reliable information about the racket of fake currency notes, the STF with the help of Bargarh district police conducted a raid on a place at Barapalli under the district.

During the raid, the STF arrested the two persons including interstate criminal 53-year-old Pattu Yadav of Parawai under Khesrah police station in Gorakhpur district of Utter Pradesh. He was presently staying at Sikirdi under Ketapalli police station in Burla under Sambalpur district. The other accused was identified as Balaram Meher of Mahatompada under Barpali police station of Bargarh district.

During search, fake Indian currency notes of Rs 14,29,500 and other incriminating articles were seized from their possession. A case has been registered at Baragarh police station in this regard and further investigation is on.
