COVID Active Tally Inches Closer To 1000 In Bhubaneswar; BMC Releases New Helpline No
Bhubaneswar: The active COVID tally in Bhubaneswar inched closer to 1000 on Friday with 325 people testing positive for the virus, which is 97% of the total cases detected in Khurda district in the last 24 hours.
The highest of 50 new cases have been reported from Patia in the city, 26 from Nayapalli and 23 from Khandagiri. Check details of the cases here:
Another 235 patients also recovered from the infection during this period. The city had seen a COVID death on Tuesday, which took the toll to 1193.
While the city now has 980 active cases, the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) informed about 3,890 people being inoculated with the precautionary dose during the drive which began at 10 am. The BMC targets to vaccinate around 8,00,000+ people under the special drive.

A COVID review meeting was also held under the chairmanship of BMC Commissioner Amruta Kulange in which a decision to increase the vaccination centre to ramp up the vaccine uptake was taken. It had earlier informed about 12 vaccination centres where booster shots are being made available for free along with the timings.

The civic body also released helpline number 1929 to help patients consult doctors. Senior officials of Team BMC will also visit and monitor the situations in various wards.
Under Ama Clinic, a list of doctors at UPHCs in Bhubaneswar for July 16 was also released.
