Odisha Reports Further Fall In Daily COVID Cases; Khurda & Sundargarh In Yellow Zone

Bhubaneswar: Odisha reported a further fall in COVID cases on Tuesday with 741 people testing positive for the virus in the last 24 hours.

The state had seen a sharp fall in cases on Monday when 797 were people found infected after recording 1,029 infections on Sunday.

According to the I & PR department, 433 of the new cases have been reported from quarantine and 308 local contacts. Among them, 138 positives are in the age group of 0 to 18 years. Sundargarh saw the highest of 176 cases followed by Khurda at 140.

Besides, 27 are from the state pool.

With these cases being detected from 1,864 samples, the test positivity rate stood at 3.9% against 4,31% on Monday and 5.16% on Sunday. While Odisha now has 6616 active cases, both Khurda and Sundargarh are in the yellow zone with over 1000 patients.
