Odisha: ED Attaches Rs 2.16 Cr Assets Of Nava Diganta Capital Services
Bhubaneswar: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Thursday attached moveable and immovable assets worth Rs 2.16 crore of chit fund company Nava Diganta Capital Services Ltd, according to reports.
The attached assets include Rs 16 lakh in 48 bank accounts and two plots worth Rs 2 crore at Narendrapur in Puri district and at Kaipadar in Khurda district of Odisha.
The ED is probing Nava Diganta Capital Services Ltd under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) after two chargesheets were filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) against the chit fund company.
Nava Diganta Capital Services Ltd allegedly collected deposits from people by issuing redeemable preference shares and non-convertible debentures on the pretext of providing higher interest to the depositors.
The company allegedly issued money receipts and certificates without authorisation from the RBI and the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI).
