Second Failure: NASA Forced To Postpone Artemis I Mission To Moon

Washington: NASA on Saturday postponed its latest attempt to launch Artemis I, the massive rocket which was due to orbit the Moon.

NASA cited a fuel leak as the reason for delaying the mission for a second time this week from John F Kennedy Space Centre, Florida.

The leak occurred as liquid hydrogen was being pumped into the rocket. No new date for another attempt has been announced till now.

“The #Artemis I mission to the Moon has been postponed. Teams attempted to fix an issue related to a leak in the hardware transferring fuel into the rocket, but were unsuccessful. Join NASA leaders later today for a news conference. Check for updates: https://youtu.be/JWAA5P-iFJs,” NASA tweeted.

On Monday, NASA was able to manage a hydrogen leak during fuelling, but had to ultimately call off the launch because of problems with an engine-cooling procedure.
