Alternative Learning Project Launched In Odisha’s Keonjhar, Aims To Develop Digital Literacy

Keonjhar: The district administration launched an ‘Alternative Learning Project’ on Tuesday in Darbar Hall, Collectorate, in Odisha’s Keonjhar in the presence of Upendra Tripathy, Principal Advisor (Education) to the Chief Minister.

The project was launched with an objective to develop digital literacy at the beginning of school life.

Among others present during the launch event were Akshara Foundation chairman Ashok Kamath, Akshara Foundation’s state lead Ranjita Pattnaik, additional director (quality) Prasant Swain and the district Collector.

Alternative Learning Programme aims at integration and inculcation of digital technology into teaching and learning of students in primary education. It will promote a culture of early-stage IT use and practice in ways suitable to students’ developmental level to improve the learning outcomes.

 

The initiative will be piloted in 20 schools of Sadar and Banspal blocks, supported by the District Mineral Foundation (DMF), Keonjhar. It will further support the students of Class IV and V to perform well in National Achievement Survey-2024.
