BJD Launches Free Ambulance Services From Odisha’s Rayagada To Andhra
Rayagada: The Biju Janata Dal (BJD) launched free ambulance service from Odisha’s Rayagada district to neighbouring Andhra Pradesh on the occasion of birthday of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Sunday.
The ruling party in the state organised several programmes including blood donation camp, free health check-up, distribution of blankets among the needy people and padyatra at Durgi to mark the day. Minister of Tribal Welfare Jagannath Saraka inaugurated the blood camp, while the party workers also lighted earthen lamps before Lord Jagannath wishing long life of the chief minister.
On the occasion, former MP and state vice-president of BJD N Bhaskar Rao flagged off 5 ambulances to Andhra Pradesh. Each of these 108 ambulances will be stationed at Rayagada, Muniguda, Bisamkatak, Gunupur and Kalyansingpur.
The need for ambulance services for the patients of the district, who have to go to Andhra for medical treatment, have been demanded since long. These ambulances will facilitate the patients who avail treatment under Biju Kalyan Swasthya Yojana. They can avail its services free of cost to go to the neighbouring state or return from there.
