Odisha CM Orders Land For ‘Kulata Samaj’ Dharmashala In Puri
Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Monday gave instruction for allotment of suitable land in Puri for the construction of a dharmashala by ‘Kulata Samaj’, a farming community from the western part of the state.
Naveen issued instruction to the district Collector of Puri to select land at a suitable place for the purpose within a week, and said steps will be taken by the state government to provide financial assistance for construction of the proposed dharmashala.
The Chief Minister gave this assurance to a delegation of Kulata Samaj which met him at Naveen Niwas in Bhubaneswar and sought one acre of land in the pilgrim town of Puri as well as financial assistance for constructing a dharmashala for their community members.
Accepting their plea, the Chief also issued instruction to the administration to take necessary steps to ensure that the proposed dharmashala, a spiritual dwelling, is completed within a year.
The delegation, comprising members from Boudh, Sonepur, Sambalpur and Brajarajnagar, thanked Naveen for considering their demand sympathetically, a release from Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) said.
While thanking the CM for taking steps for the development and transformation of Nrusinghanath shrine under 5T initiative, the team members informed him that lakhs of people of their community visit Puti every year as they are devotees of Lord Jagannath.
Members of the community have been playing a lead role in spreading Jagannath culture. Therefore, a dharmashala in Puri will facilitate their stay for Jagannath darshan and other spiritual activities.
