Tehsildar Caught Taking Bribe By Vigilance Sleuths In Odisha
Bhubaneswar: Anti-corruption Vigilance sleuths today apprehended Tehsildar-cum-Sub-Registrar of Begunia in Odisha’s Khurda district, Prithviraj Mandal, for allegedly accepting Rs 45,000 bribe from a man for issuing a land conversion patta.
Acting on a complaint, a trap was laid by Vigilance officials and Mandal was caught in front of his residential house at Kalinga Vihar in Bhubaneswar by the sleuths while demanding and accepting Rs.45,000/- from the complainant, a vigilance release said.
The entire bribe money was recovered from the possession of Mandal and seized in presence of witnesses.
Both hands wash of Mandal gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by him.
In this connection, a case was registered and investigation is in progress.
