Appointment Letter In Social Media Fake, Says Odisha’s Keonjhar CDMO
Keonjhar: In another online fraud, the signature of Keonjhar CDMO in Odisha has been forged in an appointment letter that have been uploaded in social media.
The appointment letter, bearing the signature of the Chief District Medical Officer (CDM), Keonjhar, mentioned the names of some persons who have been appointed to different posts in Keonjhar Medical College and Hospital. The recruitment has been made by the CDMO to the posts of junior clerk, attendant, peon and NNM.
On coming to know about it, the CDMO directed the Dean of the medical college to conduct an investigation. The investigation confirmed that the appointment letter was fake and the signature of CDMO, seal and the letter pad in the letter were also forged.
Following this, the CDMO on Friday filed a complaint at Keonjhar Town police station stating that no such letter was issued from his office and his signature in it was forged.
On the basis of the complaint, police registered a case and launched investigation.
It may be noted that there have been several cases of people being duped of money from their bank accounts by cyber frauds through online transactions in the state earlier.
