Berhampur: The TP Southern Odisha Distribution Limited (TPSODL) has launched OTS (one-time settlement) scheme for its consumers in eight southern districts.
Under this scheme, 24.1 lakh consumers in Ganjam, Gajapati, Koraput, Rayagada, Nabarangpur, Malkangiri, Boudh and Kandhamal can avail up to 30% rebate on electricity arrears till April 21, 2023.
“We have continually worked to provide our customers with a variety of innovative offers and schemes from time to time. We are sure that this scheme will provide much-needed relief to our consumers and will benefit them in more ways than one” said TPSODL CEO Arvind Singh.
According to the One Time Settlement Scheme 2022 of The Odisha State Electricity Regulatory Commission, all Low Tension (LT) electricity consumers can avail of benefits such as a 30% rebate on electricity arrears and an 80% rebate on delayed payment surcharge (Delayed Payment Surcharge) if the arrear payment is made in full at a time, 20% rebate on electricity arrear and an 80% rebate on delayed payment surcharge if arrear payment is made in two equal monthly instalments (50%+50%). Further, a 15% rebate on electricity arrears and an 80% rebate on delayed payment surcharge if arrear payment is made in three monthly instalments (50%+ 25%+25%).
Similarly, Hight Tension (HT) consumers can also avail benefits of the OTS by paying a maximum of three instalments. If the arrear is paid in one instalment then the rebate on DPS is 60%, for two instalments it is 50%, and for three instalments the rebate on DPS is 40%.
The scheme is applicable for electricity arrears before December 31, 2020. Customers can also call the toll-free number (1800-345-6797/1912) for further information, the release said.
