2 Flights Receive Hoax Bomb Threat Calls; Passenger Taken Into Custody

New Delhi: Hoax flight threat calls are nothing new. But two on the same day?

Well, that’s precisely what happened on Monday.

One passenger was taken into custody for questioning. However, the two incidents seem unrelated.

IndiGo flight 6E 6191, flying from Delhi to Deogarh, was diverted to Lucknow following a specific bomb threat in the morning.

All necessary security protocols were followed before the aircraft was cleared for take-off.

In an official statement, the Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport confirmed that the flight landed safely at 12:20pm and was taken to the isolation bay.

An official statement from Chaudhary Charan Singh International Airport said that the flight landed safely at 12.20 pm at Lucknow and was taken to the isolation bay.

“Airport security followed necessary checks to verify the threat and after proper probe, the threat turned out to be hoax and the aircraft was released for onward journey,” the airport informed.

The other incident involved a Chennai-Hyderabad flight, which received a bomb threat call at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in the Telangana capital.

All passengers and crew were evacuated and the airport security checked the aircraft thoroughly.

According to police, a passenger booked on that flight made the hoax call as he got delayed and feared missing the flight.

The accused passenger has been taken into custody.
